Miles HR has a 3 month+ contract opportunity for an Accounting Assistant who has working experience with complex, high volume Accounts Payable. You will be reporting to the Assistant Controller supporting the accounting team with the day-to-day accounting administration. This opportunity is located in Burnaby, BC, for a 3-month contract with the opportunity to extend.
Responsibilities:
Entering accounting payable invoice data into accounting system
Research and resolve any inconsistencies found in invoice review
Proactively identify and communicate errors in pricing, quantities, and calculations before processing payment
Address vendor inquiries regarding payment status and resolve any outstanding accounts payable issues
Provide support to the accounting team with various AP tasks as assigned, such as filing, report generation, and month-end closing procedures.

Qualifications
Working towards or completion of relevant degree/diploma with a focus in Finance or Accounting
High attention to detail and accuracy of all data
Previous experience liaising with client inquiries
Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines and tasks within a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with accounting software and proficient with excel
Ability to commute daily to Burnaby, BC
