Miles HR has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant who has a keen interest in the sports community. Reporting to the CEO of this high profile non-profit, you will be responsible for full cycle accounting, budget development, financial reporting and audit prep. The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Finance/Accounting with preference given to those with completion of CPA or enrolled in the CPA program with PREP completed. This is work from office and starts on contract with a high probability of permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead process of establishing and monitoring internal financial controls
Bank & credit card reconciliation
A/R, A/P tracking and collections
Expense tracking and disbursement
Create and report on metrics and data that monitors performance
Prepares materials and reports related to business operations for CEO
Manages relationships with contracted staff
Creates and maintains database of prospects and donors
Other duties as required
Reporting to CEO
Vancouver location, work onsite with small, friendly team
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years recent experience in a similar role
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance & Accounting
Experience managing accounts receivables and accounts payables
Knowledgeable with accounting principles, practices and financial planning
Excellent communication skills
Adaptable to changing business needs of a small, fast moving organization
Collaborative working style
Experience work in a sports related non-profit an asset
Community oriented
